British Consulate-General, Chongqing

The British Council, which operates in Chongqing as the Cultural and Education Section of the British Consulate General, is the UK's international organisation for educational and cultural relation

Duties of this post include:

Relationship building: teachers, education administrators, representatives of UK institutions, representatives of existing and potential partner organisations in Southwest China

Strategic planning: contribution of ideas for local and regional products.

Market intelligence: understanding education and English language teaching in Southwest China and the UK

Product development and delivery: Education UK Partnerships, School Links, School Leadership, Chevening Scholarships, Higher Education Links, English language.

Budget management

Contributing to our performance scorecard and evaluation

Human Resources Managing a team of four staff

Pro-active member of the British Council management team

Competencies required include:

Experience of planning and managing finances to agreed budgets

Fluency in written and spoken Chinese and English (English to BULATS Level 4 or equivalent)
